Compact Flash Undeletion

We made a mistake recently and wiped our camera's Compact Flash card with Picasa without actually retrieving any of the pictures, losing about 90 pictures in the process. After wading through dozens of USD$40 programs offering to undelete files from various filesystems and devices, I ran across Restoration 2.5.14, a free undelete utility that said that some users had reported worked on Flash memory.

I had to purchase a cheap Compact Flash reader so I could get a drive letter mapped to my CF card, but once done, Restoration worked just fine. I was able to restore the majority of my pictures. The only annoyance was that it allows you to restore only one picture at a time, but it was a small price to pay to have the pictures back.

Nelson and Jules (Rufus)

I love this picture from March of Nelson and the newest cat, Jules. Jules also goes by Rufus, which rhymes with something he frequently behaves like. Posted by Picasa

Asthma Peak Flow Meter Chart

We were looking for a good free chart for recording readings from the peak flow meter and couldn't find one, so Sonya cooked up this one (PDF). It allows you to write in the months and dates across the top. We hope this helps someone!

Join the Fair Tax movement--reform the system!

Please visit Americans for Fair Tax and read about this important proposal. I believe we can do wonders for our economy and actually reduce government red tape by getting Congress to pass this bill. Write to your senators and representatives today!

Laser turntable for your old albums

Check this out... using a laser instead of a diamond stylus to play your vinyl. My old turntable needs a new cartridge, so maybe this would be a good excuse to replace the whole thing. :)

More excellence from Middletown Elementary's chess team, led by
coaches Wade Shacklette and Chip Eskridge... Middletown Elementary's
K1 team took fourth place at the SuperNationals at the Opryland Hotel
in Nashville, TN this past weekend. This is on top of a second place
finish in the Kentucky State Team tournament March 12.

Our thanks go out to the coaches and all the parents that made it
possible. Pictured are the team coaches Chip and Wade, and the entire
